JunGLE SacRED PLANT MEDICINE JOURNEY
Peru
May 1-12, 2026
Prioritizing BIPOC & Allies
This retreat prioritizes BIPOC, but is not an exclusively BIPOC space.
THIS RETREAT IS A TRADITIONAL DIETA, A DIET WITHLas Plantas Maestras, THE SACRED PLANT TEACHERS.
It is a 10-day retreat that includes abstinence from the foods, habits, and trappings of our daily modern life. It is a time to be spent in solitude, simplicity, and inner silence partnered with the elegant cacophony of the jungle sounds and primordial life.
We have the option to commune with the healing Waters of the Ucayali river, which is the main head stream of the great Amazon River. We can bathe in the waters among, Blue Morpho butterflies, and the abundant flora and fauna that is this magical cradle of life and breath. Here, the Plant teachers work their magic, healing our bodies and souls under the guidance of a Mestizo, lineage curandero, Don José Campos.
Don José Campos is a Mestizo lineage of Curandero. His teacher, Don Solón Tello was one of the first Mestizos to be taught by his Yawe teacher, Daniel Soplin. Don Solon had traveled into the jungle to seek healing for an injured leg and was recognized as a healer by his teacher. He was taught how to work with Ayahuasca as well as other sacred plants in the dieta tradition. In his youth, Don José learned from Don Solon and is a Master Curandero with over 5 decades of experience in this lineage plant dieta tradition. He is guardian of the rain forest and invests in the preservation of his beloved jungle home and cultivation of the Sacred Plants for posterity.

This retreat is a traditional dieta, a 10-day retreat, that includes abstinence from the foods, habits, and trappings of our daily modern life. It is a time to be spent in solitude, simplicity, and inner silence partnered with the elegant cacophony of the jungle sounds and primordial life.
This is a rite of passage - a soul initiation.
There can be moments of discomfort and difficulty associated with deep healing work, solitude, dietary restrictions, abstinence from media, substances, foods, and distractions. The jungle setting is beautiful, but can also be harsh for those not accustomed to intense heat, humidity, rain, insects, jungle sounds, etc.
The food is very simple: Eggs, rice, potatoes, vegetables, occasionally lentils, chicken, and fish (not daily). There are no special dietary accommodations.
There is a strong possibility that our small group will join another small group of people from other parts of the world as Don Jose is world-renowned and sometimes works with multiple organizers in curating retreats.
While the setting is magical and beautiful, it is not luxurious. If you are seeking a more comfortable and luxurious retreat experience, I recommend you look to other sources.
While we are there so support you and be in a community container, the journey is meant to be a solo communion directly with the Plants the Jungle.
If you still feel called to join, please be ready to trust the organizers, the experience, the container and, most importantly, Don José Campos.
