I believe that most individuals carry deep historical and intergenerational trauma regardless of their racial or ethnic background. No matter what side of history our families are on, generationally, we've been either the oppressor, the oppressed, or both. The trauma inherited from the experiences of these historical roles is something we carry in our genetic coding (epigenetics) as well as in the collective consciousness. Both of these historical roles require deep attention and healing due to a legacy of psychic, somatic, and nervous system wounding.
I am, primarily, a liberation-focused trauma therapist who employs a decolonized approach to healing. I'm trained in EMDR and Compassionate Inquiry, both somatic-based trauma treatment approaches. I am also self-taught in Internal Family Systems and use it complement my therapeutic approach. I believe that most (if not all) dis-ease is rooted in trauma and the negative beliefs that these leave us with. Unless we address and tend to lthese wounds (trauma), they will continue to inform our reality.
Working from a decolonized approach means that I also hold wisdom and medicine rooted in the teachings of my Indigenous elders and Nature as a teacher and healer. I can bring these into the therapeutic setting as needed or by request. I also honor each persons own relationship (or lack thereof) with their own spiritual pathways and resources and aim to include these in the therapeutic journey. A decolonized approach does not see the individual as fragmented and separate in mind, body, spirit, the natural world, the ancestors and the greater systems we are all a part of.
If this approach resonates, please feel free to contact me so that we may explore if it’s a right fit for both of us. I look forward to connecting!

The therapeutic journey is a commitment to oneself that can vary in duration. For some, it can be a relatively short journey of just a few weeks, which can shift to an “as-needed” basis for support and maintenance.
For others it can take up to one year and perhaps longer. All human beings are different and there is no right or wrong when it comes to our healing journey. If you would like to explore more regarding session format, modalities employed, or ask any questions you might have about the process of working with me, please feel free to reach out by filling out a contact form.
